GP SERVICES & FEES

The GPs working from Redbank Plaza Medical are all highly trained registered medical specialists, who are committed to providing the highest level of care and service possible. Unfortunately, successive Commonwealth governments have failed to fund the Medicare Benefits Schedule to the level required in order for the Medicare Rebates to cover the true cost of providing high quality GP care.

 

As such, from 10th October 2022 there will be some out of pocket fees for services provided by the GPs working within our practice.

The GPs working with us, are committed to ensuring vulnerable groups are able to continue to access quality GP services. 

As such, the following patients will be bulk-billed for all general consultations

  • Children aged 15 years and under, and

  • People with a pension card, and

  • All DVA card holders, and

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients whom are eligible for a ATSI health check and CTG registration and hold a current Healthcare Card. 

 

Services provided to all other patients, including those on a healthcare card, will usually incur an out-of-pocket fee, however they may be bulk-billed at the sole discretion of the GP.

 

We have setup the EFTPOS capability to ensure patients are able to claim their Medicare rebate at the time of paying their consultation Fees, so the relevant Medicare rebate(s) are deposited back into the patient’s bank account on the spot.

Please note, the following services will be bulk-billed for all eligible patients

  • GP Management Plans (and reviews)

  • Team Care Arrangements (and reviews)

  • Medicare funded health assessments

  • Mental Health Treatment Plans and reviews

  • Antenatal visit at 28 weeks (MBS item 16591)

Cancellations

If you are unable to make it to your appointment, please provide at least 4 hours’ notice so we can offer your appointment to another patient.  Where patients do not provide 4 hours’ cancellation notice, they may be charged a cancellation fee of $40.00 which is not claimable on Medicare. If you need to cancel your appointment outside of normal business hours and have made you appointment online, please cancel your appointment through HotDoc.
